Art Studio — Mitja Bokun

For the first time, Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Jesolo hosts an artist residency, with the creative process visible to guests in our common spaces. From 19 to 25 October, Slovenian illustrator Mitja Bokun will spend a full week working in the hotel, open to those staying with us and to anyone wishing to watch a piece come to life up close.

Bokun is a recognised name in fashion and portrait illustration. He has illustrated backstage at Vivienne Westwood's Red Label show in London, created the visual identity for Shiseido Ultimune for the Chinese market, and taught fashion illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Istituto Marangoni in Milan. His portraits include Helena Christensen, Brooke Shields and Milton Glaser, and his work appears in magazines, advertising campaigns and visual identities for international brands.

For Art Studio, the residency format within our Art programme, Bokun will create an original piece for the first time, inspired by the falcon of our logo, brought to life through his immediate, instantly recognisable style, always in service of visual storytelling.

Guests staying with us can follow the piece as it evolves day by day. Those preferring a shorter visit are welcome for an aperitivo at PURO Lounge Bar or for lunch or dinner at PURO Cucina Autentica, and to watch the artist at work in person.
