Author Reading – Miroslav Hlaučo

You are warmly invited to the Library Bar for a reading by Miroslav Hlaučo, whose novel Letnice quickly found its way into the hearts of readers. Miroslav was already a guest at our festival in June – featured in a live broadcast of Art Café on Český rozhlas Vltava and live on stage at Magnesia Litera.

This reading marks the opening of the series "Encounters of the Literary Cure", which will welcome notable literary figures to Mariánské Lázně throughout the year. The novel Letnice is set in the remote town of Svatý Jiří, shortly before Pentecost in 1903. In this place, miracles are part of everyday life: people talk to statues of saints, crack stones with a whistle, and sense the approach of a new technological era that may change their world. A story with elements of magical realism that reminds us: "Miracles are all around us – you just have to look." Free admission. Event in Czech.
