Kittenberger Winery – Mittelberg in the Kamptal region

In Lower Austria’s Kamptal region, the Kittenberger family cultivates around 7 hectares of vineyards, now in the fourth generation. The estate is led by Christian Kittenberger, actively supported by his siblings Eduard and Marina. Since 2019, the winery has been certified organic – a clear commitment to sustainable quality. In harmony with nature, no chemical additives are used; cover crops and careful canopy management support the vitality of the vines. The motto: “Quality grows in the vineyard.”

The focus lies on the region’s flagship variety, Grüner Veltliner, complemented by Riesling, Muscat Blanc, Chardonnay, Frühroter Veltliner, Blütenmuskateller, Gewürztraminer, and Zweigelt. The mix of loess, schist, and gneiss soils, together with the cool climate, gives the wines structure and freshness. In the cellar, modern technology ensures gentle processing – always with the goal of producing varietally typical, authentic wines. The Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC 2020 is considered a true all-rounder. Top vineyard sites: Loiserberg, Kellerberg, and Steinriedel.
