Summer and winter sports at Katschberg

With over 70 km of ski slopes beginning right by the hotel and best of all a ski school and ski hire right in the hotel, Falkensteiner Hotel Cristallo is a winter sports paradise. In summer, swap your skis for your walking boots or your bike and off you go. It's all around you: one of Europe's largest and finest open-air fitness suites.

100% of the pistes have the latest snowmaking equipment
Most of the ski runs (about 40 km) are intermediate slopes; there are easy slopes for beginners (about 10 km). Advanced skiers and boarders will find their challenge on the 10 km of black slopes.

Tobogganing on the Katschberg mountain

A toboggan tour on the Katschberg mountain is just about a must! On Tuesdays and Saturdays, you can even toboggan at night from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. € 5.00 rental fee for the sledge.

Ski touring

A number of ski tour routes spread out from the slopes. The guided tour at sunrise is a special experience. Ski tours are not permitted on the pistes when the lifts are operating.

Sports Facilities

During summer, our hotel offers outdoor sports courts for tennis, volleyball, and football. The courts can be reserved directly at the hotel, allowing you to fully enjoy your sporting activities. Perfect for a match with friends or family during your stay.

Golf

The Golf Club Lungau is only 7 km away. The 18-hole course is nestled in the beautiful countryside and offers varied practice facilities and the charming 9-hole par 3 course to create space for beginners and consistent players.

Nordic walking/Mountain Running

At an altitude of 1,650 m, mountain running and Nordic walking routes meander along the Katschberg mountain. Ideal for high altitude training.

(E-)bike tours

With an e-bike rental, you only need to decide which route you want to take to explore the Katschberg region. Various bike rental stores are located in the Lieser-Maltatal area. From June bike rental direct at the hotel (for a fee).

Hiking buses

Thanks to the new free bus connections, guests can now conveniently reach all the popular destinations in the region without needing their own car. Whether it's hiking in the Maltatal, taking the summer cable car to Katschberg, visiting the Baby Village Trebesing, exploring exhibitions in Gmünd, or enjoying an active day in Innerkrems – the new bus routes make it possible to fully enjoy the region.
