Wine Tasting with Weingut Karl Melcher
Karl Melcher pressed his very first vintage despite a severe late frost – a determination you can still taste in his wines today.
Since 2016, the young winemaker has run his parents’ estate in Gamlitz, on the westernmost slopes of the Sernauberg in Southern Styria. Here, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grow on sandy loam soils over a subsoil of opok. The Illyrian climate and cool autumn nights give them exactly what Styrian wines are celebrated for: fruit, freshness and finesse. From tending the vines to working in the cellar, every step lies in his hands.
Treat yourself to a moment of indulgence during Advent: taste the wines of Weingut Karl Melcher and hear from the winemaker himself about the story behind every glass.
