Weingut Michael Bauer – Wine with Origin and Character

Weingut Michael Bauer is located in Mitterstockstall near Kirchberg am Wagram and has been run by the fifth generation since 2018. The family-owned winery has a long history – its roots go back to 1885. Today, the estate cultivates around 17 hectares of vineyards in the sites Mordthal, Schlossberg, Steinberg, and Exelberg, with a clear focus on quality and sustainability.

The winery’s philosophy is simple: Wine should be straightforward – in the best sense of the word. Uncomplicated, distinctive, and shaped by the unique terroir of the Wagram: fertile loess soils, sun-drenched southern slopes, and a balanced climate provide ideal conditions for grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Roter Veltliner, Riesling, and Pinot Blanc. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and processed in the cellar with minimal intervention – in line with a natural winemaking approach.

Since 2019, the winery has also welcomed guests to its modern Heuriger, where wines are served alongside regional specialties in a relaxed atmosphere. The labels feature the hoopoe, a symbol of biodiversity and active nature conservation in the Wagram region.
