Since 1748, the Hutter family has been tending the terraced vineyards above Mautern in der Wachau – seven generations of winemaking in one of Austria's most extraordinary landscapes. The Wachau is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the wines make that tangible: in soils of mica, gneiss and schist, in the interplay of continental and Pannonian climates, in the unmistakable character of every vintage.
Fritz III. and his family run Weingut Hutter – Silberbichlerhof with an unwavering commitment to what is natural: no chemicals in the vineyard, hand-harvesting, careful cellar work. The result is Grüner Veltliner and Riesling across the quality levels Steinfeder, Federspiel and Smaragd – most recently awarded up to 95 Falstaff points.
