The Samson Procession is one of the oldest traditions in the Alpine region: a monumental giant figure – seven metres tall, weighing almost 80 kilograms – carried through the village by a single man and brought to dance. Brass music, traditional costume, and a rifle guard accompany the procession, which has wound through the villages of the Austrian Alps since the Baroque era and today forms part of Austria's UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. On 15 August, it stops right at Falkensteiner Hotel Cristallo.
