world cup REGION SCHLADMING

Schladming is internationally known mainly as a winter sports resort. The long history as a World Cup destination with the annual mega event „Night Race“ and the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships planned for 2013 make the place known far beyond the Austrian borders.

Schladming has hosted the Ski World Cup over 40 times and the Ski World Championship has been taking place here since 1982. Schladming is the centre of the Schladminger 4-mountain interconnected ski region. There are 124 km of ski slopes here.

The modern infrastructure of the ski lifts, snow cannons, ski slopes and gastronomic services (ski huts, après-ski bars, etc.) make the ski area a top winter destination. Nearby there is also the cross-country skiing paradise Ramsau am Dachstein. The FIS Cross-Country World Cup also takes place here every year.
