Auernig High-Altitude Trail

We commence our journey from Tresdörfer Alm, the second middle station. From there, we proceed along our path towards the border, where our initial ascent awaits to be conquered by us. Upon reaching the summit, we follow the ridge over Garnitzenberg and Guga, leading us to the panoramic platform. From this point, we descend towards the mountain hut Watschiger Alm to relish local delicacies. This tour may encompass either an easy or a moderately challenging difficulty level – the outcome hinges upon our choice of the initial ascent. During this hike, one can anticipate enjoying some of the finest 360-degree views within the resort. With a touch of favorable weather and visibility conditions, vistas extending over 100 km of distance can be enjoyed.

Kammleiten

Approx. 2.5-3h

Our hike embarks from Tresdörfer Alm, the second middle station. From here, our path guides us to Watschiger Alm, as we traverse the national border, passing by a friendship church and a sulfuric water spring. At the serene Watschiger Alm mountain hut, our ascent to Kammleiten commences. Truly, it is a gentle hike that gradually gains elevation, leading us through mountain meadows. Having conquered the summit, we retrace our steps on the same trail back to Watschiger Alm, where we can replenish our empty stomachs with local specialties.

Gartnerkofel Sunrise

Approx. 4h

Our sunrise tour to Gartnerkofel initiates at our meeting point – the Watschiger Alm mountain hut – where vehicles can be parked. Following roughly an hour of hiking through alpine meadows, we arrive at the summit, offering a breathtaking 360-degree view, making it a perfect spot for sunrise observation. After the splendid natural display, we return to Watschiger Alm. The hike is relatively undemanding, providing an unforgettable experience well worth participating in.
