Solar eclipse at 2,275 metres

A rare sight above the Dolomites: on 12 August, the moon passes in front of the sun and a partial solar eclipse becomes visible from the summit of Kronplatz, 2,275 metres above the valley. With a 360° panorama over the surrounding peaks, few places offer a better view.

The Kronplatz 2000 cable car runs from Reischach directly to the summit, where the evening unfolds at its own pace: the MMM Corones and LUMEN museums open their doors, and the mountain huts serve regional specialities while the light slowly changes. The eclipse is expected from around 8.00 pm.
