LOIPES IN SOUTH TYROL

Enjoying the snowy landscapes of South Tyrol on cross-country skis is pure joy! In total, 1,800 km of loipes are available to cross-country skiers in South Tyrol. Whether it’s in the classic style or skate skiing – you can be sure to find the right loipe for your winter holiday in South Tyrol.
The Loipes of the Kronplatz holiday region, part of the Associated Dolomiti Nordic Ski, comprise more than 300 km of well-prepared pistes. Our recommendations for your cross-country skiing pleasure:

Riscone

Directly in front of Brunico’s front door are the roundtrip trails of the Riscone-Reischach Sportpark. They are carefully groomed every day. The cross country ski trails are provided with man-made snow as necessary and may be used free of charge.

Tauferer Ahrntal

In the midst of majestic surroundings of 3000 m-high mountains, you can find 50 km for your cross-country skiing fun. A special experience for nature lovers. The pistes around Weißenbach, Kasern, and Rein are waiting to be discovered.

Antholzer Tal

Ski around the idyllic Lake Antholz or on the same loipes once used by the biathlon greats and take a break on the legendary Huberalm. This kind of unique combination can only be found in the Cross-Country and Biathlon Centre in Antholz at an altitude of 1600 m.

Gsieser Tal

A real challenge awaits cross-country skiers with a total length of 40 km of loipes, in quaint surroundings with a winter atmosphere and featuring a small ascent towards the end.  At the finish at the end of the valley, skiers are rewarded with beautiful views of the valley and sunshine at an altitude of 1,200 m. The run is known especially for hosting the big Gsieser Valley Peoples Run.

Upper Puster Valley

Cross-country in the lands of the Three Peaks – a must for any passionate cross-country skier. Discover the loipes from Innichen to Sexten, the loipes up on the Plätzwiese, high above the Prags Valley, or those in the Fischlein Valley not far from the Three Peaks. The Nordic Ski Arena in Toblach can be reached from the hotel by train free of charge.  From the train station, it's only about a 5-minute walk to the Arena. Every year the Nordic Arena serves as the venue for several large events such as the Tour de Ski, Puster Valley Cross-Country Skiing, or the Toblach–Cortina Peoples Cross-Country Run.
