Doctor Zlatko Kožar is available to our guests for consultations from Monday to Saturday from 01.04.-14.05. and from 16.09.-05.11. Our guests can contact him on +385 (0)99 43 27900 and arrange a "house call" at the hotel. From 15.06.-15.09. a nurse and a general practitioner are available at the Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik.

Payment can be done with bank transfer before arrival to hotel or it can be paid directly at hotel reception,
with a guarantee of credit card details (type, credit card number and expiry date).
The hotel reserves the right to preauthorize the credit card before arrival, as well as to use it

What measures should I take to avoid gastrointestinal problems during my holiday in the Mediterranean?
Make sure you only drink water from safe sources. Avoid tap water and ice cubes, which may not have been made from filtered or boiled water. If in doubt, use water from sealed bottles. Avoid eating raw or undercooked fruit and vegetables that may have been washed in unclean water. Make sure your meals are fully cooked and served hot. 

Can the heat in the Mediterranean increase the risk of gastrointestinal problems?
Yes, the hot summer months in the Mediterranean region can favour the growth of bacteria in food and lead to an increased risk of food poisoning. Make sure that food is properly refrigerated and avoid eating food that has been stored at room temperature for a long time. These conditions also favour the growth of bacteria in water and on surfaces.

What specific precautions can I take to prevent gastrointestinal problems when I am at the beach?
Drink enough water to avoid dehydration in high temperatures.
Avoid consuming food and drink from street vendors whose hygiene standards may not be up to expected standards.
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, especially before eating, to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
Shower thoroughly after swimming in the sea or in pool facilities. Also make sure that children in particular do not swallow any water.

How can I recognise whether my gastrointestinal complaints are serious and require medical help?
If you experience symptoms such as persistent diarrhoea, severe vomiting, high fever or signs of dehydration such as increased thirst, dry mouth, dark urine or weakness, see a doctor immediately.
A doctor is available to you every day at our hotel.
Do not ignore symptoms, especially if they persist or worsen over several days.

How can I treat myself in the event of gastrointestinal problems?
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. Water, electrolyte drinks or diluted fruit juices can be helpful.
Avoid foods that are difficult to digest and concentrate on light, easily digestible meals such as clear soups, toast and bananas.
Rest and give your stomach time to recover before eating normally again. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
Bring a well-stocked first-aid kit with you on holiday and seek advice from a healthcare professional before you go on holiday.

Tipping has a long tradition in the hotel and catering industry and is regarded as financial appreciation and a thank you for special service. However, the increase in cashless payments means that tipping is becoming more and more complicated. In addition, we have changed the concept in some of our hotels and included more services. This means that there is even less opportunity to tip when paying. 

After an increasing number of requests from our guests for ways to give tips in an uncomplicated way, we have created the voluntary flat-rate tip. 
With this we take the liberty of adding 10 euros per night/room to your bill as a voluntary tip, provided you were satisfied with the service. You have the option to cancel, reduce or even increase this amount at any time. Of course, you can still tip individually. 

We will inform you again in detail about our voluntary flat-rate tip at check-in and check-out and will also be happy to accept your wishes here.
