Rieserferner-Ahrn & Lake Antholz

The Rieserferner-Ahrn nature park encompasses the Antholz and Ahrn valleys. Water features heavily in this protected natural paradise. The roaring Reinbach falls and the Pojer waterfall, as well as pleasantly rushing streams and mountain lakes that are hard to beat for purity, are hidden away in this park. The highlight in the are of the nature park is probably the crystal-clear Lake Antholz at the end of the valley. Surrounded by mixed coniferous forests and impressive mountains, it is a very special rejuvination spot. The third largest natural lake in South Tirol is fed by the lake bottom and the tributaries from the mountains. On the approximately one-hour nature trail, you can enjoy a walk around the lake that is full of interesting information.

The Rieserferner Group with its 3,436-metre high Hochgall rises majestically in the north-west. To the north, the Staller Sattel marks the border to the Defereggen Valley in Austria.
