Balloon Week Mauterndorf 2026
Discover the winter wonderland of the Salzburg Lungau from above: From 10 to 17 January 2026, the village of Mauterndorf hosts the 26th Balloon Week, filling the snowy alpine sky with colourful hot air balloons.
Weather and thermal conditions permitting, balloon flights take place daily from around 8:00 am. Guests have the opportunity to join a balloon ride and enjoy breathtaking views of the winter landscape from a bird’s-eye perspective. Visibility of up to 100 kilometres is not uncommon in winter, and with a bit of luck, the weather even allows alpine crossings to Italy or Slovenia.
