Garnitzenalm–Ofenalm Tour

Distance: approx. 12.2 km
Ascent: approx. 470 m

This varied circular route through the rugged Carnic Alps is a real gem for mountain bikers with solid fitness. Starting from Nassfeld Pass, you climb towards the Watschiger Alm before continuing to the Gartnerkofel cable car mountain station at 1,850 m. From there, enjoy a scenic descent to the charming Garnitzenalm. A cross-border trail takes you into Italy, where a technical single trail with tight switchbacks leads to the Ofenalm. The final stretch follows gravel paths past the Auernig Alm and back to the start. A diverse and rewarding Alpine biking experience.

Watschiger Alm – Lago di Pramollo

Distance: approx. 10 km
Ascent: approx. 230 m
Duration: approx. 1 hr
Level: easy

This relaxed circular route begins just outside the hotel doors and leads through the picturesque border landscape of the Nassfeld Pass. After only a few minutes, you’ll reach Lago del Pramollo – a scenic alpine lake straddling Austria and Italy. The trail continues past the quaint Nassfeld chapel and the Plattner alpine inn before climbing gently to the sunny Watschiger Alm. After soaking in the views and perhaps enjoying a local snack, the route takes you back via Tressdorfer Alm. A perfect half-day tour with photo stops and culinary highlights.

Guggenberg Tour

Distance: approx. 30 km
Ascent: approx. 700 m
Duration: 3–4 hrs
Level: medium

A local classic! Starting in Hermagor, you quickly gain elevation through a fairy-tale forest and reach the scenic ridge. Breathtaking views await at the top before the route continues across the mountain to the village of Guggenberg. A long descent brings you back down to the valley, followed by a peaceful ride along the Gailtal cycle path (R3), which runs through meadows and forests away from traffic. This tour requires some fitness but is not technically demanding – and it's full of rewarding landscapes.

Gailtal Tour – Pressegger See

Distance: approx. 40 km
Ascent: none
Duration: 4–5 hrs
Level: easy

This family-friendly route follows the flat and well-maintained Gailtal cycle path (R3) from Hermagor to the beautiful Pressegger See. The path runs away from the main roads, making for a safe and peaceful journey through Carinthia’s pristine nature. At the lake, take a dip or enjoy a leisurely picnic. This tour is ideal for families with kids, couples or anyone looking for a relaxing day on two wheels. For extra convenience, you can return by train.

There is no bike rental inside the hotel, but just next door at Sölle Sport, you’ll find everything you need: e-bikes, trekking bikes, hardtail and full-suspension MTBs, freeride bikes, kids' MTBs, and all the necessary gear like helmets, protectors, child seats, and trailers.
