Republic Square, the National Theatre and Knez Mihailova Street
Some of Belgrade’s most important buildings are found here, including the National Museum and the National Theatre. The museum has again opened its doors after an extensive renovation with its new permanent collection that represents a huge chronological period from the Paleolithic period to 20th century art. Knez Mihailova is the main pedestrian zone in the centre of Belgrade. It runs from Kalemegdan to Republic Square and carries on to Terazije Square, splitting the downtown into two.
