Hiking

in the Dolomites

Terento is the ideal starting point for hikes into the Pfunder Mountains or the Dolomites. High-altitude glacier hiking tours, mountain shelters at high altitudes, and fixed rope routes also offer the right options for the more experienced among us. And the view from the top across the peaks of the Dolomites is definitely worth all your trouble. But there are also plenty of mountain hiking tours for pleasure hikers as well. Those who prefer hiking alone can get information regarding destinations for their excursions and hiking tips from the Hotel & Spa Sonnenparadies. And those who prefer to hike in groups can join our weekly guided hiking tours (4x / week).

This natural monument represents one of the most popular destinations for families of the Val Pusteria valley. What you are going to see is an exceptional natural phenomenon which has been created by mother nature and which, in the course of time, has been shaped and reformed by the weather. In Val Pusteria, you can discover this phenomenon either in Terento or in Plata.
The earth pillars above Terento emerged subsequent to the historic thunderstorm in 1834, in which huge masses of earth and debris were flushed away by the Rio di Terento river. In the years after, rain and snow-fall modelled and formed the pillars, which stood the test of time due to a covering stone at their top, protecting the pillars. However, the material of the earth pyramids dates back to the last Ice Age.
Ideal for families with kids (but not with prams), the earth pillars can easily be reached on foot (about 40 minutes). The earth pillars are going to leave a lasting impression, not only with your kids

The Terento Mill Path winds its way from east to west along enchanted villages and side valleys in which these timeless mills have their origins. In the winter the snow that feeds these inventive mills leaves nothing but a small trickle to the farmers. After they had fallen into decay for quite a long time, the Terento Mills are nowadays part of one of the most important educational paths dealing with the topic “Water as mechanical source of energy”.

A path full of attractive games and spaces to rest in the area of the Plose, Brixen/Bressanone. Ideal for families with strollers.

Klausberg is our special recommendation for families during their summer vacation. Close to 60 km of paths for walking there is to discover a water world, a Dinoland and the longest Alpine roller coaster of Italy and the toboggan and bob slope "Klausberg-Flitzer".

The Braies lake, the pearl of the Dolomites lakes, and the Antholz lake in the natural park Rieserferner-Ahrn, are true gifts of nature and create an unforgettable scene for your family photos.

Three impressive waterfalls and big cliffs, along a small path that can be easily reached on foot. In summer hot days are the perfect distraction for a different day.
