WITH OUR GUIDE

Our hiking guide Pauli accompanies guests into the mountains several times a week during the summer months and shows them the most beautiful spots nearby. For those that prefer to explore the Antholz mountains on their own, we recommend the following hiking tours:

OUR GUIDED TOURS

  • Hiking time: approx. 3.5 hours
  • Elevation: approx. 200 m

We start off from the hotel in our private cars via the Staller Saddle. Relaxing hike from the Defreggen Valley to the Hunter’s Lodge. The Defreggen Valley is located right in the middle of the national park, a side valley 40-km long with many mountain pastures and a varied landscape. Special “highlights” of this tour are the hunter’s lodge alms siting at an altitude of 2,009 m, some of the oldest Austrian alpine pastures.

Hiking time there and back: approx. 3-4 hours
Elevation: approx. 600 m

We start off from the Hotel in the direction of Lake Antholz, and from there start our climb to the Steinzger Alm (1,894 m). Our tour will take us across the Jöchl (2,261 m) to the Staller Saddle (2,052 m). We then return to the hotel by taking the Elverweg.

Hiking time: approx. 4-5 hours
Elevation: approx. 600 m

We take off form the hotel in our own cars in the direction of the Antholz Central Valley. From there, we walk from the car park across the path or the steep trail up to the Grentenalm (Trail No 6) for approx. 2 hours. There are tremendous views of the Antholz Valley, the Gsieser Ridge, and the Dolomites from the alms. For those that simply can’t get enough: It’s worth making the climb up to the Grenten Cross at an altitude of 2,250 m.

Hiking time there and back: approx. 3-4 hours
Elevation: approx. 200 m

1-day hike to get acquainted with the Antholz hiking area. The Mittertal Ridge Trail: The hike will take you across pastures and through beautiful mountain forests on the sunny side of the Antholz Valley. We will walk across the Schwörzalm (1,668 m), then continue to the Bergeralm (1,650 m), and finally return to the hotel via the Egger farms.

Hiking time there and back: approx. 7-8 hours
Elevation: approx. 1,300 m

We start at the hotel and walk in the direction of the Schwörzalm (1,680 m), and then across the Biwak before reaching the popular Riesenfern hut.

Hiking time there and back: approx. 4-5 hours
Elevation: approx. 750 m

We take off from the hotel in our own cars in direction of the Staller Saddle. From that point onwards, we follow the “7” marking on the trail leading southwards up the slope and then through the Ags Valley slightly ascending to the fork in the trail. Crossing grassy slopes and rocky terrain we finally reach the actual mountain, and now have a steep but possible climb up to a small embrasure and onto the ridge for a quick climb up to the cross on the peak (2,818 m; from Staller Saddle 2.5 hours)

Hiking time: approx. 5-6 hours
Elevation: approx. 700 m

From the hotel we take our own cars to the Furkel Pass. The Piz da Peres is located right in the middle of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature park. The climb leads across the 3-Finger embrasure up to the peak at 2,507 m. The descent leads across the West Flank back to the Furkel Pass. This trail is a bit more challenging and must be secured in a few places.
