The Falkensteiner Golf Cup with Christine Wolf
My first impressions of Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Carinzia were simply brilliant! From the moment you walk into the lobby, you feel immediately at ease and welcome. No wonder the Falkensteiner motto is "Welcome Home!". When I checked in at the reception, I was welcomed very warmly by the employee there and was provided with all the first important information regarding restaurant hours, Acquapura SPA opening hours and a map to our room. During our conversation, I caught a first glimpse of the harmoniously designed garden.
I had barely arrived before I was already itching to go to the Golf Club Nassfeld Golf where I would have the privilege to meet Ferdinand Kühne. He received me very warmly and showed me the practice green. Despite having seen very many golf clubs throughout my career, I was truly impressed by Nassfeld Golf and was looking forward to coming to training on the very next day. Back at the hotel, I used the time before dinner to relax and swim in the Acquapura SPA. After that, I enjoyed an exquisite 5-course meal.
I started the next day in the gym to get my circulation going early in the morning. The rich and substantial breakfast buffet offered me plenty of delicacies afterwards, also supplying me with power and energy for the day to come.
I was off to the golf course at around 9:00. First, I started out at the driving range and hit a few balls to warm up. Then I engaged in a pitching session on one of the two excellent pitching greens before enjoying a brief lunch break on the club house terrace. Afterwards I did some putting practice (the putting green is super speedy, and the greens generally roll well and fast), before I played 9 holes. Again, the Acquapura SPA was my last stop for the day before starting off to dinner.
The next day of training was much the same, except that I treated myself to a massage after training, because regeneration after training is also very important.
The next day, I even got to play with the club's president - in the Falkensteiner Golf Trophy. This day, as well, was simply great from beginning to end and a wonderful success. I think each and every one of the participants really enjoyed the day.
All in all, I can say that I felt at home in the hotel right from the start. The staff was very helpful and the food was excellent, too. Added to this was the fine practice facility on the golf course where I was able to use my time very wisely to practice and to offer some advice myself. On top of that, the course is a feast for the eyes. It is beautifully situated amidst nature and there is no gradient at all - the club house is the highest point on the golf course (according to club manager Ferdinand Kühne). I think the golf course is suitable for every skill level, and in addition, the golf club offers a 6-hole practice facility for beginners, children or just for practicing the short game.
I really enjoyed the great atmosphere here at Nassfeld which I put to use for practice, thus preparing myself well for the next tournaments. I would recommend Hotel & Spa Carinzia with the Golf Club Nassfeld Golf to anyone seeking a special golf experience in wonderful scenery and wanting to combine a golf holiday with excellent food and a fantastic spa offer.
