Carinthia's first 8-seater chairlift and 3 additional ski runs on Gerlitzen mountain!
Major upgrading completed on the Gerlitzen! The 8-seater Carving Jet replaces the former Neugartenlift, and there are some additional ski runs in the direction of Bergerbahn-Birkenhoflift, to Klösterle and to the Pacheinerlift. And that's not all: Considerable investments were made in another 28 snow cannons and slope maintenance vehicles. 3,300 car parks, 1,800 of which are right next to the skiing slopes, ensure you have the shortest route to skiing fun. Lots of charming mountain huts in the immediate vicinity of our state-of-the-art ski lifts invite skiers to stop by, have a rest and enjoy. Well taken care of by friendly hosts, you will sense the southern zest for life!
The Gerlitzen's mountaintop plateau, which you can see from afar, is the starting point for unparalleled skiing fun high above Carinthia!
The skiing area is easy and fast to access from all four directions. Close to the entrance gates (car parks P1 to P9) of Carinthia’s most centrally located skiing centre, you’ll find the major motorways A2, A10 and A11. You can also reach the Gerlitzen by environmentally friendly public transport means. Fly to Gerlitzen? No problem, from Klagenfurt Airport it’s only a 25-minute drive and the many accommodation establishments will take care of convenient transfer.
On the Gerlitzen, families with children, groups, singles, beginners, advanced learners and pros all are sure to get their money's worth. You can choose between south, east, west and north – the naturally levelled, wide ski runs pointing in all four directions invite skiers and boarders alike to try out their techniques. No fewer than four mountain reservoirs, powerful snowmaking equipment and a sophisticated slope grooming schedule ensure the highest possible piste quality and reliable snow conditions. All slopes are certified and were awarded the "Carinthian Slope Quality Label".
Quaint mountain huts, spacious sun terraces, a laid-back atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and plenty of hours of sun ensure good vibes, fun and action.
From the Gerlitzen to the spa. Pure relaxation for half the price. Owners of a Gerlitzen ski ticket are granted a 50-per-cent reduction on the admission fee at the hot springs of the spa Therme Warmbad Villach.
Summer holidays
Hiking - With its well cared-for panoramic and theme trails and the many cosy mountain huts, the Gerlitzen mountain is ideal for hiking, strolling, lingering and recharging your batteries. Carinthia is at your feet with its cities, lakes, mountain chains and valleys stretching far beyond to its neighbouring countries.
Nordic walking - In the area of the middle station/Kanzelhöhe at an altitude of 1,440 metres the Gerlitzen offers several Nordic walking trails, perfect for health and fitness training and an ideal method for burning fat. Our trails have three levels of difficulty, are clearly marked and provided with checkpoints.
Paragliding - The Gerlitzen at the very heart of Carinthia is characterised by special thermal conditions making it a true eldorado for paragliders (and model fliers). The launch sites are in immediate vicinity of the mountain station of the Gerlitzen-Gipfelbahn. Want to try it out or learn how to do it? Accompanied by an experienced tandem pilot you' have the opportunity to experience Carinthia's lovely mountain- and lakeside from a bird’s eye view. On site you will find a flying school and several providers of tandem flights.
Pistenflitzer - Austria's first downhill go-cart run - Ultimate fun for big and small kids alike. During the summer, by the middle station/Kanzelhöhe - where in winter our skiing guests carve their elegant turns across the Moser ski run - there are two slopes reserved for our Gerlitzen Pisten Flitzer! Gerlitzen-Classico, the family run for those who love curves and Gerlitzen–Dirittissima for all those daredevils who prefer a more direct and fast approach.
Bike tours - from the mountain to the lake

Bike Tour 2 / Time: approx. 1.5 hours / Gerlitzen summit plateau - Feuerberg - Bodensdorf/ Lake Ossiacher See - Annenheim/Lake Ossiacher See / Distance: 25 km to Annenheim, (18 km to Bodensdorf), track conditions: 24 km asphalt, 1 km cart track (only on top of the mountain) altitude difference: 1.400 m
Bike Tour 3 / Time: approx. 2 hours / Gerlitzen summit plateau – Stifterboden – Arriach – Treffen - Annenheim/Lake Ossiacher See / Distance: 30 km, track conditions: 29 km asphalt, 1 km levelled gravel track (top of mountain) altitude difference: 1,400 m
Cycling is exclusively allowed along the marked bicycle routes!
Mountain water
There's plenty of it on the Gerlitzen. In winter as many as 4 mountain lake reservoirs supply the raw material for our slopes - in summer they are the Gerlitzen's "sparking water". Children love paddling and splashing to their heart’s delight in the sparkling waters of our alpine pastures.
